RUNNING AROUND WITH TUCKER

Tucker, who is currently 15 months old, greeted me with the biggest smile. He was so excited to run around outside! He would turn and do these adorable little poses, like a Baby Gap model. I met Tucker at Family House, and he is one sweet kid. He reminds me of every kid I have in front of my camera. I am so thankful to be able to play with Tucker because he has such a playful spirit. He loves to be chased, and I could chase him all day!

Tucker was 3 months when diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. He’s been undergoing chemo treatments since then. We spend about 50% of our time in SF at Family House. And have spent many weeks/months in the hospital since then. We live outside of Chico.

Tucker is always smiling, and for the most part does not “look” sick. Living apart has been the hardest on our family. My boyfriend and I have 4 kids total, Tristan, 20, who lives in Tahoe, Miera, 6, Nash and Tucker. Rion stays home and cares for the other kids, and works as a mechanic to support our family.

Advice for other families is to communicate, with each other, with professionals, with other families going through the same and stay positive. It’s hard, but there is always someone whose situation is worse than yours. Find the good things, even if they are small and focus on them.
