MINIS ARE HERE

I can’t believe it’s almost October! Minis are in full swing, and I’m so excited to share some of my minis with you. I love my full sessions so much, but if you’ve got one kiddo, your schedule is so crazy, your sweet boy(s) or girl(s) love the camera and are ready to cheese it up for 20 minutes, these are for you! Minis aren’t for everyone because it is such a quick time slot, but even though they are quick they can still be pretty magical!

PLAY HAVEN SAN FRANCISCO

Play Haven is such a great place for a birthday party! When you can't be sure if it will be foggy or sunny, it's nice to know your party will be inside but that there's also an outdoor space which is so rare! The space is very large, especially when you're celebrating twins! It's perfect for running around, containing the smaller kids, and lots of activities so no one goes stir crazy. I highly recommend it, and the staff couldn't be more wonderful!

RUNNING AROUND IN SAN MATEO

When your family of three becomes a family of four, you have to celebrate with some photos! It was so great meeting this little love bug and seeing his older brother again. Three can be a tricky age because they want to explore and run around, but I promise if you let them run around for a bit and have them think they're in charge, they will come around. Kids just want to have fun (don't we all) so let them run around and get some energy out but most importantly don't stress! We have the time, and I've been told a time or two I have some patience!

BACKYARD FUN WITH LOTS OF CAKE

This backyard birthday party was so much fun! There were so many adorable kids running around (which can be rare for a San Francisco backyard party), and everyone was having such a great time. This party also had one of my favorite cake smashes! I always encourage cake smashes because whether they love it and dig right in or get overwhelmed, the photos will always be something to cherish!

SWEET FAMILY OF FOUR IN GOLDEN GATE PARK

This adorable family of four wanted some family photos before they left the Bay Area. As beautiful as San Francisco is, a lot of people I know don't stay in the Bay Area forever. It is such a special treat to be able to photograph families in San Francisco before they set out on their next adventure. If you're moving, let's get some family photos in! When my families move, it's also the best excuse to travel where they go so we can capture new memories.

FAMILY OF FOUR PLUS ONE MORE...DOG

I've been photographing this sweet family for years, and it's been so much fun to see how they all change over the years. I also can't believe that Lauren is taller than me! I also loved that they brought their adorable new pup along and also their grandma who was visiting. She was there to make everyone smile and watch the dog for some photos but of course I had to put her in the shot!

RUNNING AROUND WITH TUCKER

Tucker, who is currently 15 months old, greeted me with the biggest smile. He was so excited to run around outside! He would turn and do these adorable little poses, like a Baby Gap model. I met Tucker at Family House, and he is one sweet kid. He reminds me of every kid I have in front of my camera. I am so thankful to be able to play with Tucker because he has such a playful spirit. He loves to be chased, and I could chase him all day!

ABOUT TO BE FIVE

Olivia is one brave, strong, adventure seeking, beautiful little girl who recently turned five. That is such a big milestone for kids. It means that they're done with preschool and heading into kindergarten, they can tell you specifics about their day, they tell you what they do or do not want to do (probably loudly) and they are coming into their own personalities. Olivia told me she wasn't really that excited to get her photos taken but she was having so much fun she didn't want to leave! That really touched me because these kids are my clients. I want them to have so much fun and not feel like they have to sit still and smile. I want your kids to feel like they are in charge. They can tell us where they want to take their picture. They can decide on making silly faces and then I can guarantee they will give you the smiling photo you love. Five is great and if you don't believe me, just scroll through these.

KITTY THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY IN KENTFIELD

I love photographing birthdays because kids grow so fast in just a year. I first photographed Violet at her first birthday and she was so shy. She reminds me of me when I was her age. She was clinging to her mom and didn't really want me in her face photographing her every move. This year, she was full of energy! She was smiling at everyone and laughing a ton. This year we were buddies and it made me so happy. I can't wait to see how she changes throughout this year!
