BIRTHDAY BUDDIES IN SAN FRANCISCO

This sweet family celebrated two birthdays! It was so cute watching Jocelyn, who just turned one, and her grandfather spend time together. The two are birthday buds, which may explain why they are so insync with each other. Since grandma and grandpa were in town for birthday celebrations, we also grabbed some quick family photos before the party. I can't tell you enough how much I love photos with grandparents!

WATCHING THE SUN RISE WITH A FAMILY OF FOUR

These boys are so adorable and so full of personality! They were such a blast to photograph because they were constantly running around and telling me they were getting donuts after our early morning shoot. We talked about our favorite donuts, and that if they gave me one last smile they could be on their way so the good donuts don't run out. I asked them if they were going to get broccoli donuts and they both yelled YES! Then they realized what they said and laughed and said no no no. Morning sessions are some of my favorites and they go great with chocolate donuts.

PARTY IN THE PARK

This two year old party in the park was so fun! No matter if your party is a huge production or just a family gathering, it makes it so much more memorable with actual photos. I love photographing all kinds of parties. This low key birthday party was great because kids could run around all over the park and that gave the adults time to chat and catch up. It was such a great day, and who doesn't love a side of cake with your bagel!

SAYING GOODBYE TO GOLDEN GATE PARK

Lately I've been getting so many inquiries for family photos because these adorable families are moving away from San Francisco. I think that is the greatest idea! Especially because the families I photograph have mostly young kids, they have routines. This family spent every weekend in a specific part of Golden Gate Park that is so special to them. They wanted to have photos taken here so that they can always remember all the weekends they spent together as a family. It's a wonderful idea, and if you're on your way out of the bay area, let's talk about special memories you have here and how we can incorporate them into your family session!

SO MANY SMILES AT FAMILY HOUSE

I haven't seen a smile like this one in quite some time. Iliana is so full of life and love. She is hilarious, beautiful and made me laugh a ton. I had seen her at Family House a few weeks before for the first time and was so excited to see her in front of my camera. At Family House, I offer these sessions to whoever can fit it into their schedule. This means that I don't really get to know who is going to be in front of my camera, which is so much different than my typical family sessions where I can prepare more. It almost feels like I'm going on a first date because I get so excited to see who is going to be free that day and which story I get to be apart of. I am so thankful Iliana stepped in front of my camera.

BLISS POPS

If you checked out my blog post from last week, you'll see a super fun birthday party in Golden Gate Park. It was a ton of fun, but something that made it so great were the popsicles that they had. They are called Bliss Pops, and they are AMAZING! If you have a birthday party coming up this summer, Bliss Pops are such a great way to do something a little bit different. There was a constant line for these delicious treats. Check it out below!

FAMILY FUN AT THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

The Pennington family was one of the first families that I ever photographed when I moved from New York to San Francisco. It has been such an amazing experience to watch these kids grow. When I first met them, this little dude wasn't even born yet! Noelle is such a wonderful big sister, and Lucas really completed this family. I've spent holidays with them and look forward to celebrating their birthdays every year. It's my favorite thing in the world when my clients become like family. I was also so excited to find out Laura's mom would be in town! What better way to finish off your family session than a couple of photos with some grandparents. I'm not sure who gets more emotional, me or the grandparents!

FAMILY PHOTOS FOR GRANDMA

When you have a family member in town, especially Grandma, it's a great reason for you to have a quick family session! It doesn't have to be formal. It can be as simple as going for a nice walk on a tree lined street. Just having some casual photos with your kiddos and your family member(s) who is in town for a quick visit. Your kids are only this age for a short amount of time. Why not capture it?

LAST MINUTE MINI SESSIONS

The week before Mother's Day I'll be working in Los Angeles, so I won't be able to fly back the next weekend to see my mom for Mother's Day. I wish it would have worked out better, but my mistake is actually good news for you! It means that I'm going to open a weekend of Mother's Day Minis! These sessions are intended for moms and their kiddos but we can always add dad in at the end, don't worry.

RACING DAY AT FAMILY HOUSE

This fun day at Family House was all about race cars! My dad used to take me to Formula 1 races when I was in elementary school, so he was probably more excited about the cars than I was. It was so fun to watch all of the kids get in the car and pretend to be race car drivers. After playing in the cars and checking it out, the kids went upstairs and there were games, a jumpy house and tons of food. It was the best day, and I'm so glad I got to be apart of it!

ANOTHER YEAR OLDER IN SAN FRANCISCO

One of my favorite sessions to photograph are milestones! Whether the party you planned for your little one has already come and gone, you celebrated outside of San Francisco or you just didn't have photos taken at their party, that doesn't mean you can't still have photos taken to remember your little one turning another year older! It was so fun seeing this little girl turn one and spend time with her parents in their special spot in Golden Gate Park.
